Gateway Playhouse & Lunch, Bellport, NY "Altar Boyz" 
Thursday, July 29

Our day begins with a delicious three-course lunch at Sicilia D'Oro in Bellport. Then to the intimate Gateway Playhouse, for a delightful musical comedy spoof about five talented heart-throb "boyz", revealing soul-wrenching secrets with hilarious results, spectacular dancing and great harmonies. Afterward, time for some browsing in the quaint seaside village of Bellport, including antique shops and an old-fashioned ice-cream parlor. Pre-register beginning June 1 at 10:00am. A Day by the Seaside, Gurney’s Inn/Historic Montauk

Tuesday, August 24

Fee: $71.00 per person

Enjoy a delicious lunch with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean at the famous Gurney’s Inn . Then we’ll have a special guided bus tour of the historic Montauk area, followed by time to browse through the quaint local shops at Gosman’s Dock and maybe indulge yourself at the old-fashioned confectionary. Our last stop will be at a winery and farm stand for some fresh local produce. Pre-register beginning July 13. Each registrant must show proof of Farmingdale District #22 residency. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents the first week. Reservations for non-residents begins July 20. U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Ct. Lunch at Historic Griswold Inn

Friday, September 24                                              

Time: 8:00am-8:00pm

Fee: $61.00 per person

We will begin with a delicious lunch at the historic Griswold Inn in the quaint village of Essex Ct.. Afterwards, we’ll get, a unique opportunity for a cadet-guided tour of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a most scenic campus overlooking the Thames River. Our tour will include a visit to the quarterdeck, academy museum, the training ship Eagle, and a full dress Cadet Drill Parade, if scheduled. Some walking involved. Pre-register beginning August 10 at 10:00am. Each registrant must show proof of Farmingdale District #22 residency. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents the first week. Nutritionist Gary Feldman will teach you how to better understand ingredient labels and terms that pertain to nutritional supplements. Learn the meaning of natural, synthetic, pharmaceutical grade, and standardized. Energy Efficiency

Making homes, vehicles, and businesses more

energy efficient is seen as a largely untapped solution to addressing the problems of pollution, global warming, energy security, and fossil fuel depletion. Representatives from the Farmingdale Home Depot will talk about the many ways you can be more energy efficient in your home. Learn about different thermostats, light bulbs, and more. Falun Dafa (Falun Gong)

Falun Dafa is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice that improves mental and physical wellness through a series of easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the development of one's heart-mind nature. Register online beginning July 1. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents.

 

Hauntings: A Study of Ghosts

Join The Paranormal Adventurers on a spooky journey back through time to find ghosts. Learn how the hauntings the Fox Sisters experienced in rural upstate New York influenced Houdini and present day ghost hunters. Go along with them to a haunted mansion in Massachusetts as they investigate with Jason, Grant and Steve from the hit SciFi channel television show “Ghost Hunters.” Register online beginning July 1. Introduction to Massage Therapy

As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. Elder Care specialist Anna Cann will give a brief overview of nursing homes, Medicare, and Medicaid.
