The library provides access to a wide variety of electronic resources that offer magazines, journals, and newspaper articles; research electronic resources on specific subjects such as literature, art, auto repair, business, health, student resources, and more.

To access these electronic resource, you will need your Farmingdale library card barcode.

 

Britannica Academic

Includes Encyclopedia Britannica plus Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, magazines and periodicals, and other research tools.


Britannica School

A source for all grades (Pre-K-12) and all reading abilities. Available at three levels–elementary, middle, and high.


Britannica Escolar

Research material for school age children. Content is age-appropriate and in Spanish. Features will assist native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish in doing research.

Explora Educator Edition

Offers professional development resources, lesson plans, research guides, and curriculum standards. The Teacher Reference Center is a complimentary database available on this resource.


Explora for General Research

Over 5,600 topic overviews and categories that are commonly asked in public libraries. Some of the many topics included are: personal finance, do-it-yourself, health and current events, etc.


Explora Kids

Search hundreds of children’s magazines, the Encyclopedia of Animals, Funk & Wagnall’s New World Encyclopedia, American Heritage Children’s Dictionary, and 1.3 million images of relevant photos, maps and flags.


Pronunciator

Learn 80 foreign languages. Includes 50 ESOL courses & access to U.S. citizenship exam preparation lessons.


Tutor.com

This online tutoring service, connects students to tutors in an online classroom. Users can review and share previous sessions, prepare for a test or practice skills with practice quizzes, use the Princeton Review to prepare for your SAT or ACT and store assignments, class notes and projects while using Tutor.com. Users will be required to have a valid library card number. (For students in Gr. 4-12 & College.)
